Opening of Monk Fryston School of Dance

Founded in 1995 by Miss Lucie, Monk Fryston School of Dance began with one Wednesday class in Monk Fryston Church Hall after a chance conversation with a local dressmaker whose daughters wanted to dance.

The Growth of the School

The school quickly grew, and by 2005 classes ran on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Over the years, talented teachers like Miss Hannah and later Miss Annabel—herself one of the school’s first pupils—have carried its legacy forward.

Transition into Aspire Dance

Miss Annabel first took over Tuesday classes in 2016 and has since helped the school thrive, offering countless children in Monk Fryston and Hambleton the chance to discover the joy of dance and performing arts.
